industrial STUDIO PORTRAITS
In this studio couple shoot, I aimed to break away from the typical, identical setups often seen in bridal shops. Instead, I crafted a custom backdrop tailored to the couple, inspired by their unique vibe and personality. For this particular session, we tried something new by incorporating an industrial twist—intentionally leaving studio equipment like stands and wires visible in the shots. Prewedding photos don’t always need to be flawless or overly edited; sometimes, including these raw, unexpected elements creates an authentic, unpolished charm.

CONTAINER NIGHT // couple PORTRAITS
This couple shoot took place at an industrial container yard, starting in an open field at sunset. The couple was a bit shy at first, as they didn’t take photos often, so we began with some light-hearted fun, like bubble guns and casual strolls. As they warmed up and grew more comfortable, we moved to a secluded industrial spot for a heartfelt letter reading under twilight skies. As night fell, the glow of hurricane lamps illuminated their handwritten letters. To end the shoot, we embraced the fading light and experimented with artistic lighting—my latest creative approach to prewedding shoots. It was an incredibly fun session, where I found myself in the flow, fully enjoying the process.

JON LOUIS + AMY // couple PORTRAITS
I met Jon years ago during a model agency shoot, shortly after I moved into my current studio. Fast forward a few years, and now he’s engaged, and it’s time for their couple shoot. Wanting to do something different, I took them to an incredible wide canal in Singapore with gentle slopes. We spent time exploring, amazed by the sheer size of the water passageways that drain rainwater into the open sea. Toward the end of our shoot, we had a heartfelt letter-reading session, and Amy unexpectedly broke into tears, touched by how far they’ve come together. I remember that at the start of the shoot, Amy was really tense, not used to being photographed. But I’m glad they both eventually relaxed and let their emotions flow, even though I was a stranger to her, meeting for the first time that day. All in all, I’m very grateful for the opportunity to be part of their love journey. Moments like these recharge my passion and remind me of my mission as a wedding photographer: to help couples feel at ease and show their true personalities so I can capture them as they are.

Rooftop memories // couple PORTRAITS
After a short shoot in our studio, we went to an industrial rooftop, free from the hustle and crowd of stressful city life. This was an opportunity for both of them to spend time together while I created some candid portraits to document their present moment. In the final moments before sunset, we witnessed one of the most magnificent sunsets. As the sun touched the horizon and everything turned to twilight, they read handwritten letters to each other. I remember hearing them reflect on their relationship, the past, how they helped each other grow through their teenage years, and shared words of gratitude. I’m very grateful to have had the opportunity to witness and document these meaningful images, knowing they will keep them for a lifetime at home.

CINEMATIC STUDIO PORTRAITS
We wanted to try something out of the norm, different from the usual portraits taken in a bridal studio. The portraits in this gallery are inspired by movie scenes and ideas from our research and experimentations. Hope you enjoy these pieces of work as much as we do
