Founder of Hong Ray Photography, Lee Hong Rui, believes that wedding photography should be focused on capturing natural, genuine emotions. “I want my couples to remember something meaningful in their photos after 10 or even 20 years,” explained Lee. To achieve that, he ensures that every photo session is entirely comfortable and stress-free. “I’m not like the usual sales person who tries to convince customers to sign up for packages. Instead, I explain my signature style and let them decide for themselves,” he continued.Hong Ray’s signature style itself lies on candid shots, thus making natural lighting and even dimly lit indoor venues the perfect settings for him. Being in his mid-twenties, Lee also feels a strong connection to couples who are mostly around his age. “Like me, they’re willing to try out new, extreme ideas that others probably won’t find interesting,” said Lee. He has even brought clients to visit abandoned places and forests, and also try underwater photo shoots.Yet above everything else, the emotional connection between the couple is what matters the most to Lee. “There was a couple who broke into tears when I asked them to share something meaningful about their relationship.
